Ferritin Quantitative Test

PCT Rapid Quantitative Test (Chemiluminescence Immunoassay)

PCT Rapid Quantitative Test (Chemiluminescence Immunoassay) is used for in vitro quantitative detection of the Procalcitonin concentration in human serum, plasma that contains heparin /EDTA and other anticoagulants and venous whole blood samples, mainly used for auxiliary diagnosis of inflammation diseases.

Product Detail

Application

Procalcitonin (PCT) is a peptide composed of 116 amino acids, also known as the prohormone of calcitonin. It is well-documented that the concentration of PCT increases in patients with bacterial meningitis or sepsis. However, its primary site of synthesis and its exact function have not been fully elucidated yet.

Procalcitonin (PCT) is an inflammatory marker that has been used as an indicator of severe bacterial infection. PCT appears to be a useful marker for the diagnosis of systemic infection in febrile neutropenic patients, and may be a better indicator than C-reactive protein (CRP) in this context.
