Ferritin Quantitative Test

Total IgE Rapid Quantitative Test

Immunoglobulin E (IgE) is a type of antibody (or immunoglobulin (Ig)"isotype") that has only been found in mammals. IgE is synthesised by plasma cells. IgE's main function is immunity to parasites such as helminths like Schistosoma mansoni, Trichinella spiralis, and Fasciola hepatica. Total IgE is utilized during immune defense against certain protozoan parasites such as Plasmodium falciparum. Total IgE may have evolved as a last line of defense to protect against venoms.

Clinical Significance

Elevated concentrations of IgE are generally thought of in the context of allergic disease. However, increases in the amount of circulating total serum IgE can also be found in various other diseases, including primary immunodeficiencies, infections, inflammatory diseases, and malignancies. Total IgE measurements have limited utility for diagnostic evaluation of patients with suspected allergic disease, except for allergic bronchopulmonary aspergillosis (ABPA). An elevation of total IgE is part of the diagnostic criteria for ABPA, although the specific diagnostic concentration is dependent on certain patient characteristics.
For patients with an established diagnosis of allergic disease, measurement of total IgE is necessary for identification of candidates for omalizumab (anti-IgE) therapy and for determination of proper dosing.

Intent use

✔ Evaluation of patients with suspected diseases associated with elevations in total immunoglobulin E (IgE), including allergic disease, primary immunodeficiencies, infections, malignancies, or other inflammatory diseases.
✔ Diagnostic evaluation of patients with suspected allergic bronchopulmonary aspergillosis.
✔ Identification of candidates for omalizumab (anti-IgE) therapy.

Biotime Ferritin Rapid Quantitative Test
Ferritin Rapid Quantitative Test
Ferr is a universal intracellular protein that stores iron and releases it in a controlled fashion. The protein is produced by almost all living organisms, including algae, bacteria, higher plants, and animals. In humans, it acts as a buffer against iron deficiency and iron overload. Ferritin is found in most tissues as a cytosolic protein, but small amounts are secreted into the serum functioning as an iron carrier. Plasma ferritin is also an indirect marker of the total amount of iron stored in the body. Hence serum ferritin is used as a diagnostic test for iron-deficiency anemia.

25(OH)-D Rapid Quantitative Test
25(OH)-D is a prehormone that is produced in the liver by hydroxylation of vitamin D3 (cholecalciferol) by the enzyme cholecalciferol 25-hydroxylase. Physicians worldwide measure this metabolite to determine a patient's vitamin D status.

HCY Rapid Quantitative Test
Homocysteine, often shortened to HCY, is a thiol containing amino acid produced by the intracellular demethylation of methionine. Excess HCY in the bloodstream may cause injuries to arterial vessels due to its irritant nature and result in inflammation and plaque formation, which may eventually cause a blockage of blood flow to the heart.

Malaria Pf/Pv Antigen Rapid Test
The Malaria P.f/P.v Antigen Rapid Test is a lateral flow immunoassay for the qualitative detection of Histidine-Rich Protein II (HRP-II) specific to Plasmodium falciparum (P.f) and Plasmodium lactate dehydrogenase (pLDH) specific to Plasmodium vivax (P.v) in human whole blood specimen. It is intended to be used by professionals as a screening test and provides a preliminary test result to aid in the diagnosis of infection with Malaria. For professional in vitro diagnostic use only.
